Green Country Fox Trotting Horse Association of Oklahoma recently donated the proceeds from the Southern Classic Charity Horse Show.  This organization is small in size but tries to make a difference.  The small horse club has only 50 members but took on the responsibility under the leadership of President, Jack Arnold (of Bristow), and Show Chairman, Joe Jameson (of Claremore).  The result was a donated check to Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation in the amount of $5000.00.  GCFTHA has more than a common interest in Fox Trotting Horses.   Members and friends have routinely given donations to Make-A-Wish Foundation, The Community Center, Children’s Medical Center and other worthy organizations.  This year’s show theme was, ”May the Trail of the Painted Ponies lead to a Cure for Juvenile Diabetes”.  This is possible only with the help of volunteers and sponsorships such as Oklahoma LP Gas Safety, Research & Marketing Commission, AT&T, Bailey Medical Center, and many personal contributions.  We urge you to get involved in your community!  Together we can make a difference!

About GCFTHA

Established in 1981, by a group of fellow Oklahoma Horsemen and Horsewomen interested in Gaited Horses. Specifically Fox Trotting Horses. Missouri Fox Trotters and American Fox Trotting horses had registries open to gaited horses capable of demonstrating a foxtrot gait. Registry was closed in 1988. Originally, established as Oklahoma Fox Trotting Horse Exhibitors Association and later changed the name to GCFTHA. This was done to comply with Missouri Fox Trotting Horse Breed Association rules to disassociate a local organization name with regional implications such as State of Oklahoma. As the Northeast third of the State of Oklahoma is known as The Green Country region of the State, thus, the name Green Country Fox Trotting Horse Association of Oklahoma was chosen and amended under Corporate Charter. GCFTHA is a qualified tax-exempt non-profit organization under the laws of the State of Oklahoma.

GCFTHA complies to the show rules and regulations of the Missouri Fox Trotting Horse Breed Association. MFTHBA Headquarters are located at AvaMissouri. http://www.mfthba.com/  GCFTHA supports the Horse Protection Act of 1973 and employs DQP’s for most horse shows.
